Médica defende ivermectina contra a Covid-19: ‘Objetivo é tratar precocemente’
O uso da ivermectina na prevenção e no combate aos efeitos do novo coronavírus é defendido pela médica Lucy Keer. Vídeos da profissional de saúde recomendando a utilização da medicação nos primeiros sintomas da doença têm sido compartilhados em redes sociais e ganham cada vez mais visualizações.
Em entrevista à rádio Super 91,7 FM, a médica detalhou os motivos pelos quais indica a substância para o tratamento de casos de Covid-19.
“O objetivo (do medicamento) é você tratar precocemente. Quando o paciente não tem ainda aquele estado grave de falta de ar e inflamação intensa, em que as medicações são só para manter a vida e esperar a reação do próprio organismo. Você dá o corticóide, o antibiótico, o antigoaculante, mas muitos pacientes não voltam da UTI. Então, o negócio é você não deixar entrar na UTI, tratar antes”, explicou Lucy Keer.
De acordo com a médica, uma das evidências que respaldam o uso da ivermectina no combate ao coronavírus é o baixo número de infectados pela doença em algumas regiões da África em que a população recebe anualmente doses do antiparasitário.
Apesar do posicionamento de Lucy Kerr, a Sociedade Brasileira de Pneumologia e Tisiologia (SBPT) alerta que ainda não há evidências científicas que indiquem o uso da substância na profilaxia e tratamento da Covid-19.
